Ice rink in Freudenstein Castle: from 16 November 2024 - 2 March 2025
This winter season, a large ice rink once again invites young and old as well as professionals and beginners to skate in the courtyard of Freudenstein Castle.
A magical winter world with rustic mulled wine huts, heated winter bar and skate rental in the castle courtyard is created around the 525 m² ice rink. Winter sports fans and all those who have always wanted to try can skate in comfort, do pirouettes, practise jumps or try their hand at figure skating.
Skates are ready - skates and helmets can be conveniently rented and cloakrooms are also available.
Ice skating fun for children
Ice penguins on skis, approx. 1 metre high figures to hold onto, are waiting for the little ones to learn how to skate in a fun and playful way. And what child hasn't always wanted to skate away from everyone at their children's birthday party? That's also possible here! Very special ice skating offers are also planned for the Christmas and winter holidays.
Ice curling
Curling is one of the regular ways to combine recreational fun with real team spirit. Reservations should be made in good time. In addition to the large ice rink, you can relax afterwards at the winter bar in the heated tent with hot drinks or a snack.
Christmas party or corporate event
For Christmas parties or small private celebrations, the Event gastronomy offers the perfect setting. The cosy and heated winter bar or the spacious rooms of the castle-Café offer space and charm for your individual event with culinary delights. Curling Challenge
- 4 players per team
All teams consisting of four players can register for the curling championship. It doesn't matter whether the teams are made up of work or club colleagues, friends or family members. The only thing each team should think of is a suitable name.
- Registration for the qualifying round
The preliminary rounds are played without an opposing team and can be played on a date of your choice. However, prior notification must be made by calling 03731 / 363225 that a team wishes to take part in the competition within the framework of their rented time on the curling rink, as a referee must be provided..
- Spielregeln
The four players of a team each have three attempts to place an ice stick as close as possible to the centre of the 3.5 x 2 metre target area (house). The further the ice stick is from the target, the more minus points are recorded. These minus points correspond to the distance of the ice stick to the centre of the house in centimetres. Important: The centimetres are always rounded up! At the end, all 12 attempts are summed up as a team score.
- Eight teams in the final
The eight best teams with the fewest points qualify for the final. The teams will then compete against each other with their four players in the traditional form of curling.The date will be announced in good time.
