The city on the Elbe

Saxon sandstone mountains
The predominantly sandstone low mountain range, which stretches along the Elbe from Saxony to northern Bohemia, is so well known mainly because of its highly fissured and shaped rock elevations. Meissen
Freiberg's history is closely linked to the margraviate of Meissen. Those interested in history will find Meissen a good complement to Freiberg's history.
