On the Upper Market (Obermarkt)

On the Obermarkt around the fountain monument of the city's founder "Otto the Rich", the green market takes place on Tuesdays and Fridays, the large mixed weekly market on Thursdays and the "Saturday market" on Saturdays.

Tuesday and Friday: Green market, 8am–5pm
Thursday: big famer´s market, 8am–5pm Uhr (Textiles until 3pm)
Saturday: Saturday market, 8am–1pm

When the Christmas Market is set up in mid-November, the weekly market and the green market usually move to the Schloßplatz. For reasons of space, only fresh goods (corresponding to the Green Market) are offered during this time.

Big famer´s market

Thursday 8am–5pm

At Freiberg's largest market, our approximately 50 traders offer you a colourful assortment: from organic products from our own production to flowers and plants from Freiberg nurseries to Mediterranean specialities, textiles and basketry.

Current assortment: Fresh fruit and vegetables, cheese and dairy products, organic products from direct marketers, organic meat and sausages from our own production, fish products, Mediterranean olive specialities, flowers and plants as well as bulbous and perennial plants and woody plants of all kinds, flower arrangements, honey, mushrooms, tea and spices of all kinds, snacks, sub-trigotage, watches and jewellery also with battery change, shoes of all kinds, bags and leather goods, curtains, hosiery, basketry, haberdashery and household goods, textiles, nightwear, fur goods

Green market

Tuesday and Friday 8am–5pm

Fresh food and plants are available at our green market.

Current assortment: Fresh goods, such as: Fruit and vegetables, flowers and plants as well as bulbs and perennials, all kinds of shrubs, seasonal flower arrangements, meat and sausages, cheese and dairy products, snack stands

Market hustle and bustle in the Wasserberg district

The Park of Generations in the Wasserberg residential area (Karl-Kegel-Str.) is bustling with activity on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at the green market and on Thursdays at the mixed weekly market.
